Former President John Mahama has arrived at the parliament house for the 2019 State Of the Nation address presented by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Dubbed the State of the Nation Address (SONA), the event normally gives the President the platform to recount salient happenings in different segments of society, stretching from security, industry, services, the social sector, such as education, healthcare delivery and sanitation, to agriculture and the economy.
Mahama has been hit with two lawsuits ahead of Saturday’s NDC presidential election. One Stephen Agyeman dragged the former president to court with the view of stopping Mahama from seeking re-election.
In his writ, Agyeman argued that Mahama’s re-election move violates the 1992 Constitution and he is thus asking the court to stop the former president from contesting in the NDC’s presidential election.
Although Mahama has been hit with the lawsuits, he looks extremely unperturbed — as in a video captured by the sharp lenses of HotfmOnlinegh.com, the former president is seen walk majestically to take his seat in the parliament house .
The 2019 State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament is the 3rd since Nana Addo assumed power in 2017.
