The campus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been turned into a transport yard, following the closure of the school.
Companies like VIP are cashing in as students pack out of their various campuses to beat the 12: pm deadline.
Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Tuesday said transport companies have lined up their buses in front of the school to shuttle the students home.
The Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) closed down the school after a meeting with KNUST authorities following student riot.
The students in protest of what they described as “oppression from school authorities,” destroyed school property and set fire to the Dean’s vehicle.
Based on this, all students are expected to vacate the university’s premises by midday on Tuesday, October 23. Only international students will remain and security will be provided for them.
Meanwhile, a team of heavily armed police and military personnel are in the school as a 6 to 6 curfew takes effect.
