Team Ghana led by Chef de Mission,Mr Evans Yeboah has arrived in Argentina for the 2018 Youth Olympics.The team arrived in Buenos Airies on Monday for the Games which will commence on October 6th.
Here is a list of young men and women representing Ghana at the Youth Olympics in Argentina : Sandra Mensimah Owusu (weightlifting), Kelvin Carboo (beach volleyball), Solomon Diafo (athletics), Abeiku Jackson (swimming) and Eric Tsatsu (beach volleyball) .
Mr Evans Yeboah is the Chef de Mission of Team and would be supervising all activities by Team Ghana in Buenos Aires.
According to Mr. Yeboah , a gold medal attracts a reward of $5,000, while a silver medal would get a $3,000 reward and a bronze medal winner will get $2,000 as a reward from the state.He believes this should be enough motivation for the lads to deliver at the competition.
Ghana will be involved in weightlifting, beach volleyball and swimming which will start on October 7 while the track events (athletics) commences on the 13th of October.
Martha Bissah won Gold for team Ghana in Nanjin in the 2014 Games.This current team will be looking to improve on Martha Bissah’s performance with more medals for team Ghana.
The games will commence on the 6th and will end on the 18th of October.
