On December 7 2018 ,the National Democratic Congress(NDC) will go to the polls to elect its Flagbearer for the 2020 elections.
Many Political enthusiasts and NDC faithfuls would’ve expected the incumbent Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Joseph Ade Coker to endorse former president John Mahama as the presidential candidate to lead the NDC in the 2020 general elections.
This is simply because, Ade Coker played a significant role in John Mahama’s government.
John Mahama–who led the party to an abysmal loss in 2016–has been touted as favourite to win the presidential primaries of the NDC party ahead of former majority leader and current 2nd deputy speaker of parliament, Alban Bagbin,Joshua Alabi and Spio Garbrah.
But answering a question in line with whether he will endorse John Mahama to lead the NDC in the 2020 elections, Joseph Ade Coker surprisingly told Boama Darko in a one on one interview on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM that:
“What am saying is,i will have to reserve my personal preference for the mean time”.He said.
Explaining the motive why he can’t endorse John Mahama,Ade Coker indicated that:
“Because am going for an election and I must make sure that am like a woman with a big breast; everyone must suck it; not one person should suck it…at the end of the day when the die is cast and all of us have been given the opportunity to make our choices i will definitely make my choice”,Ade Coker noted.
Joseph Ade Coker has been heavily tipped to retain his position as the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC party ahead of stiff opposition from Nii Ashie Moore —a former NDC MP for Adentan,
