Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong has described late Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, as “incorruptible fine gentleman.”
He says the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana was a genuine politician compared to his boss, ex-President John Mahama who he described as not “politically astute.”
The legislator believes the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would have been better placed as political party if it had about 40 people with the same traits as late Amissah-Arthur.
“Amissah was indeed a fine gentleman and would be missed greatly. I’m not saying this because he is dead. Amissah Arthur and I were very good friends so I know what that man stood for. He was a fine gentleman,” he said.
“The NDC would have been a great and a better party if it had about 40 Amissah Arthurs,” he added on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” on Tuesday.
He revealed that the late Veep once confided in him that he was unhappy about the ‘loot and share’ attitude of some officials of the erstwhile NDC administration.
“He once confided in me about some happenings in the NDC while in London. He revealed to me how uncomfortable he was about how some greedy NDC officials loved to steal from the national coffers,” Kennedy Agyapong disclosed.
